Treatments

Acupuncture

Ear, body and head acupuncture

Acupuncture may reduce or eliminate symptoms in a large number of illnesses without causing any side effects.

Dr. Florian Heimlich holds the B-diploma for acupuncture and has therefore completed the full training.

Allergy treatment

What exactly is an allergy?

An allergy is generally understood as an over-sensitivity of the immune system to substances from the environment which are not harmful in and of themselves. Some examples of these are pollen, animal hair and dandruff, insecticides and food. These substances are referred to as allergens. The tendency to over-sensitivity is hereditary. It can manifest itself in a range of clinical pictures such as conjunctivitis, rhinitis, hives, bronchial asthma and others, which are ultimately all due to a reaction to an inflammation. This only occurs following external factors such as particularly intense contact to certain allergens which act as the tipping point.

Hearing impairment and tinnitus therapy

Hearing impairment and tinnitus therapy

For acute illnesses of the hearing organ, we offer circulation-promoting infusions, combined with cortisone as applicable, on an outpatient basis. The parallel application of oxygen therapy, acupuncture or magnetic field therapy can also be effective to support the process.
If the acute therapy of the hearing impairment or tinnitus is unsuccessful, the intratympanic administration of a cortisone hyaluronic aid mixture is a favourable therapy option.

In cases of chronic hearing disorders, we provide the patient with a detailed explanation of the origin of the disorder and possible alternative therapy strategies such as intravenous oxygen therapy following Regelsberger, acupuncture, bioresonance therapy and/or magnetic field therapy.

In chronic cases of tinnitus (i.e. those lasting longer than 6 months), we offer the HTP procedure – a completely new form of tinnitus therapy.

Special micronutrients may additionally be taken as an adjuvent treatment in cases of stress-related inner ear illnesses such as hearing impairment, tinnitus or hearing loss.

There is additionally close collaboration with neurologists, doctors working with psychosomatic disorders, psychotherapists and hearing aid acousticians.

Intravenous oxygen therapy involves supplying the blood with pure medical oxygen via an intravenous infusion for therapeutic purposes. It can be used to treat a range of illnesses successfully.

Dr. Regelsberger introduced it to medicine and developed it into a uniquehighly-effective and harmless therapy over decades of practice and research. More and more doctors are applying this method for their patients’ benefit.

The tiny oxygen bubbles supplied to the blood result in the formation of blood vessel-dilating and anti-inflammatory substances and the flushing of excessive fluid in the tissues (oedema). The clotting capacity of the blood platelets is inhibited, which counteracts deep vein thrombosis. In general, circulation throughout the entire body is improved.

The oxygen supply additionally results in the multiplication of certain white blood cells, whose main function is to act as the body’s internal defence system. The immunity level of the body is significantly improved.

Another very important effect of intravenous oxygen therapy is the stimulation of the increased formation of the body’s internal radical interceptors. “Free radicals” are a significant factor in our ageing process and in the occurrence of numerous severe illnesses – from cardiovascular diseases and signs of wear in the joints and spine to cancer. The intravenous oxygen treatment is therefore also ideally suited to the prevention of illness and is a very effective natural biological anti-ageing tool.

Objective effects

Indications

Intratympanic therapy

Intratympanic corticosteroid (ITC) therapy involves injecting a hyaluronic acid-based hydrogel containing cortisone into the middle ear under local anaesthetic. After the gel has been applied, a slight feeling of dizziness may occur for a short time. The medication spreads directly at the target site, the cochlea in the inner ear, and can produce its effect locally there. It is therefore possible to achieve higher concentrations at the target site than in infusions or tablets. Also, since the cortisone hardly enters the bloodstream at all, there are practically no systematic side effects.
The gel-like consistency prevents the active ingredient from flowing away from the site so the effect lasts for several hours. In most cases, several treatments are required at intervals of 2-3 days.

After the administration, we advise patients to remain lying down for a few more minutes and they can leave the practice 30-45 minutes after the treatment was started.

Intratympanic corticosteroid therapy is a successful method in the treatment of hearing impairments, acute or sub-acute tinnitus and Morbus Menière.

Intratympanic corticosteroid therapy has been the object of scientific research since the turn of the millennium and was made known in Germany by Prof. W. Mann of Mainz University Hospital.

Immune stimulation therapy

In cases of frequent (recurring) infections, immune stimulation may be indicated. This is offered in our practice in the form of high-dose Vitamin C treatments (infusions), autohaemotherapy, acupuncture and/or bioresonance therapy individually or in combination.

Magnetic field therapy

Pulsating magnetic field therapy is an improved further development of magnetic field therapy using static magnetic fields. As the name implies, it emits electromagnetic signals in the form of impulses. The impulses may be varied in frequency and intensity to match the patient and the illness.

Each human body contains approx. 60 trillion cells. Each individual cell forms a magnetic field. The cell voltage of a healthy cell has to be at least 50 mV and may be charged up to 90 mV. On the contrary, unhealthy cells show a far lower voltage.

Magnetic fields with specific frequency and intensity may exert a bioenergetic influence on our bodies.

  • Transport of nutrients is facilitated
  • Oxygen supply in the cell is increased
  • Oxygen use is improved
  • Energy and cell metabolism is heightened

→ Blood circulation in the tissue is facilitated
→ Oxygen particle pressure in the dermal tissue is increased
→ Body’s internal defence and self-healing regulation is boosted

Sleep video endoscopy

It is now possible to localise the anatomical collapse of the respiratory tract during sleep. This is thanks to propofol-induced sleep and snoring diagnostics with simultaneous inspection of the depth of sleep while determining brainwaves (EEG) and the use of a computer-controlled medication pump. The test can be carried out on an outpatient basis and is fully painless. The use of the latest technology is indispensable in this procedure. The anaesthetist puts the patient into an artificial deep sleep within the space of 20 seconds through the administration of a sleeping pill with a short-term effect. The snoring starts immediately. During this “deep sleep phase”, a flexible video endoscope is inserted through the nose into the patient’s throat. The vibrations of the soft palate, base of the tongue, epiglottis and larynx as well as the snoring sound itself can then be visualised. The countermeasures and the chances of success of the treatment can be determined immediately.

Snoring treatment

We will examine you as a specialist for sleep-related breathing difficulties and provide you with comprehensive advice and a treatment plan with a cost outline. The preliminary exam includes an endoscopy of the nose, throat and larynx, a polygraphic test (sleep screening) as well as, where applicable, X-ray image of the paranasal sinuses, an allergy test, rhinomanometry (measurement of nasal breathing) and a lung function test (spirometry).

Tinnitus therapy (ATP procedure)

The SEIYO ATP (Anti-Tinnitus Programme) procedure is a 12-week programme consisting of a daily hearing unit of 1½ hours using the twins machines and 30 minutes of noise or sound therapy. Stimulating the hearing centre in the brain in a balanced way requires not only stimulating the limbic system but also bringing it back into a relaxed state. Hearing with the twins is the tension and stimulation phase, while the noise or sound therapy is the relaxation phase. This enables the brain to learn in the most effective way to concentrate on the hearing itself and to evaluate the tinnitus as unimportant and blank it out. During the first six weeks of the therapy, the brain learns to remove the tinnitus from the perception centre and during the second half, i.e. the second six-week block, the brain learns to blank out the tinnitus. The auditory memory is deleted or restarted like a computer. Once again in brief: Following a “neuronal reprogramming” of the phantom sound in the brain, the annoying beeping sound is subsequently classed as not a priority, in other words simply blanked out. The burden caused by the tinnitus is reduced or eliminated.

The SEIYO system was developed by Soundperience, one of the leading innovating companies in the field of acoustics in Germany.

SEIYO (Japanese for relaxation) represents the fusing of the most modern audio technologies with the latest scientific findings from acoustics.

Using this system, it is possible to carry out tinnitus therapy as well as the relaxing auto-detox programme for cases of stress, sleep disruptions or burn-outs from the comfort of your own home.

Patients are looked after by not just our trained staff, but also Ms Sandra Kappner (hearing therapist, master audiologist, tinnitus specialist). Ms Kappner has been working on the development of approaches to solving and treating cognitive processing problems such as tinnitus, hyperacusis, AVWS, auditory deprivation and sleep disruptions for over 15 years. She is in demand across the national borders and a valued professional in the area of cognitive auditory processing.

Involvement in studies

Alongside the regular operation of our practice, we also take part in scientific studies on new treatment procedures and formulations as well as mechanisms of action or epidemiological data. We participate in these studies in order to incorporate new findings into our routine daily work in a timely manner. In doing so, our goal is to allow our patients to gain access to new therapy options and new diagnostic procedures more quickly. We only take part in studies that have been approved by independent ethics committees.

News:

We are currently seeking patients for the following studies:

  • Morbus Menière
  • House dust allergy
